Bund Wall Calculator

EPA-compliant secondary containment for fuel storage

What is offset? Offset is the clearance distance from the inner wall surface to the tank edge. This creates working space around your tank for access, inspection, and maintenance.

Example: A 5'×3' tank with 1' offset creates a 7'×5' inner bund (adding 1' on each side). With 6" thick walls, the outer bund becomes 8'×6'.

Why you need it: Required for safety access, maintenance work, leak detection, and emergency response around tanks.
Plinth height is typically 6" (0.15m)
Project Management
Calculation Method: Volume accounts for tank displacement within bund. EPA SPCC modes comply with 40 CFR 112.8(c)(2). Height limit: 1.5m (4.92ft) per industry practice.
