kW vs kVA
kW is real power doing work; kVA is apparent power the wiring and generator must carry. Power factor is their ratio. Generators are rated in both — a 10 kVA set at 0.8 PF delivers 8 kW. Undersizing by confusing the two is the most common backup-power mistake.
US vs UK Gallons
Caribbean suppliers mix both: a US gallon is 3.785 L, an imperial (UK) gallon 4.546 L — 20% different. Tank sizes from US manufacturers are US gallons; older British-spec documentation may be imperial. This converter supports both.
Pressure Heads
Pump work mixes units constantly: 1 bar ≈ 14.5 psi ≈ 10.2 m ≈ 33.5 ft of water column. Converting pressure to head lets you compare pump curves with elevation directly.
